Understand How to Play Craps – Pointers and Strategies
If the payoff for a Do not Pass Odds bet equals the amt. of the Flat bet, then the Odds bet is bridged. The section of your Odds wager that is equal to the Flat wager is placed exactly beside to the Flat bet. Then, the rest of the Odds wager is laid on top "bridging" them. For example, let’s say you lay a 5 dollar Do not Pass bet and the hurler throws a point of 8. Being aware of the true odds for the eight are six to five (i.e., 6 ways to make a 7, and five ways to make an eight), you then lay six dollars in Odds with the expectation of winning 5 dollars. In this example, if you win the six dollars Odds wager, you win $5, which exactly equals the amt. you win with your $5 Flat bet. Therefore, since your Flat bet and Odds bet aquire the same amount (five dollars each), you bridge your six dollars Odds bet by making a $5 chip directly beside to your $5 Flat wager, and then laying the $1 chip so it bridges the two $5 chips.
If the payoff for a Don’t Pass Odds wager doesn’t equal the amt. of the Flat wager, then the Odds bet is heeled. This basically means you position the bottom chip of your Odds wager chip stack right next to your Flat bet. Then, put all remaining Odds bet chips on top of that single chip but offset and leaning on that bottom chip (your Odds wager chip stack is tilted due to the fact that it is leaning on the bottom chip).
Befuddled? That is fine, don’t get nervous. The dealer is always ready to assist if you forget. After a couple of times, it all makes perfect sense. It will not take too much time before you’re a master. If you’re not certain what to do the first time you attempt it, basically tell the croupier, "I want to place some Odds but I don’t comprehend if it really should be bridged or heeled." The dealer asks, "How much do you wish to place?" Suppose you indicate, "$15 to win 10." The croupier asks you to place your chips on the table (croupiers aren’t permitted to collect anything, especially chips, directly from a gambler), and then the dealer properly heels or bridges them based on the amt. of your Flat wager. You will quickly get the feel of it. Just do not be hesitant to ask the dealer queries. His/Her job is just to deal, but also to be courteous and assist the players.
